Overcoming Slander Whisper from your Father, God

Overcoming Slander
Whisper from your Father, God

O Lord, how many are my foes!
    Many are rising against me;
2 many are saying of my soul,
    “There is no salvation for him in God
. Psalms 3:1-2 NIV

How do you stand strong in the wave of discouragement?  How do you navigate those thoughts in your mind that tell you there is no hope for you?  How often do those negative thoughts tell you that I am distant from you and will not come to your aid? What is your response?

I am always closer to you than your thoughts.  I see all of those who rise up against you and assault your character. I am present when you hear their taunts and I watch your reaction. I feel your pain and understand what it means to be accused falsely.

As long as you focus on their taunts it will be hard for you to gain hope.  You may even find yourself agreeing with their assessment of lack of options. But, the moment you turn your gaze to me for help, things change.  An opening of light can be seen at the end of their dark tunnel of hopelessness. Their lies only stay on the path of truth for a short distance until it gives way to the steady foundation of my commitment to finish in you what I have started.

As you draw nearer to my understanding, you will begin to hear the heartbeat of my love for you. When you look at my face and see my love for you, the strength of their stings of discouragement begin to fade. Salvation always starts with me.  You cannot “effort your way” into saving yourself.  My Son, paid the full price needed for me to grant your salvation.  There is no other path for life except through him.

Do not grow weary because of their constant ridicule.  I will strengthen you and uphold you with my strong hand of justice.  I have committed to always be your Father.  Look to me and find strength for your emotional roller coaster of fear and worry.

Forever committed to your well-being

Whispers from your Father, God
