For this
is what the high and exalted One says—
he who lives forever, whose name is holy:
“I live in a high and holy place,
but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly
and to revive the heart of the contrite.” Is 57:15

We don’t deserve it, but God comes close to those
who respond to sin with true brokenness.
Do you know a person that you think is beyond hope, that they have dug a
ditch too deep to recover, or that they never seem to be able to change? God lives there. Aren’t you glad!
At your lowest point, at your most undeserving
moment, at the smell of your own repulsive pride, God is able to be present to
restore. He wants to revive you and heal
you to the uttermost. It is God’s desire
to put things in order wherever He is present.
Disorder and chaos are not part of his living quarters. So He rebuilds those broken things around
Him. Amazingly he repairs the cracks in our lives in such a way that others
notice His workmanship.
So, when you mess up...remember to run where God
lives and not the opposite direction. Don't be too proud to live with the
lowly, you might miss God's handiwork of restoration.
